How we're supporting our customers through the national lockdown.

At Zego, we’re consistently monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the UK as it develops and affects our customers.

Last week’s announcement of a minimum one-month national coronavirus lockdown means the incredible work carried out by our diverse range of customers is essential to keeping the country going.

We know that as a driver, you may face difficult circumstances such as being unable to work for a number of reasons over the next month and we are here to support you.

As well as helping to make sure you have insurance that meets your demands and needs, we also want to help reduce the risk of underinsurance. Here’s a look at the different initiatives Zego has available to help support the customers transporting food, parcels or passengers for their work in these unprecedented times.

Discounted policies

We understand that during the national coronavirus lockdown, many of our customers' work will be significantly impacted and that’s why we’re discounting our 30-day and annual private hire and van policies in the UK.

From 5th to 30th November, Zego will discount all of its policies for Private Hire drivers by up to 12.5% and Van customers by 5%, to ensure we can help keep customers driving and working with cheaper insurance premiums during these uncertain times.

We’ve also extended discounts to our scooter policies too. Until the 30th November, all Scooter Third Party Fire and Theft and Fully Comprehensive policies will be discounted by 5%.

If you are an existing Zego customer, discounts will be applied automatically to any renewal policies taken out in November. If you’re a new Zego customer, the discount will be automatically applied to your quote.

*These discounts are a November-only offer as part of Zego’s COVID support for drivers. Customers that receive a discount in November should expect their next renewal from December onwards to be calculated without a discount.

*For UK van customers, please note that your policy must be underwritten by Wakam to be eligible for discount.

Policy Downgrades

If you’re one of our UK Private Hire or Ireland Taxi customers, Zego will offer the opportunity to temporarily downgrade your cover, throughout the month of November.

This will be especially useful for anyone not working at the moment, due to the national lockdown, as switching to an SD&P only policy can help you save money on the cost of your insurance whilst giving you the freedom to use your vehicle domestically.

This means, instead of having to declare your car off-road and being unable to use it, you now have a cost-effective alternative to paying for cover you aren’t using.
