Where are you from originally, and what is it like?

I am from Genoa, Italy. Many people know it because it is close to Cinque Terre (must see) and it is the hometown of Christopher Columbus (hope you know who he is!)

What do you miss most about home?

My friends and… the food!

What’s your favourite memory from home?

The scent of fresh-baked focaccia in the morning.

What do you enjoy most about living and working in a different country?

The career opportunities and the multicultural vibe of London.

What’s your role at Zego and where do you sit within the organisation?

I am Head of Business Intelligence, part of the Tech team.

What did you do before you worked at Zego and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I was in another startup in a similar role. I don’t know where I will be in 5 years, hopefully still at Zego, working from the Italian office that I helped to source and build up!

What do you love about your job?

Every day is different and I have never gotten bored.

Who have you learnt the most from at Zego so far? What have you learnt from them?

I am learning a lot from my team, especially every time they find new gaps and opportunities in the data. Outside of my team, if I have to name names, maybe Daphne Fischer - she knows everything about Zego!

What advice would you give to a Zegon on their first day?

Don’t be shy and try to build your network as soon as possible. The amount of talent and kindness in the company is terrific.

How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do now?

Do I speak English?!?!?!

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Your sacrifices will be paid back, never give up, you are doing well.

Tell us about your typical working day…

Every day is different and most of the time it doesn’t go the way I planned it. Only two things never change - looking over my to-do list at the beginning of each day followed by a good morning meeting with my team, to start the day on a high!

If you could entice one (famous?) person, alive or dead, to work at Zego, who would it be and why?

This is a very tricky question. I’ve never thought about it… maybe Albert Einstein, I guess he will have a say in some of the stuff we are working on.

If you had unlimited money to start your own business, what would it be?

A not-for-profit organisation with the scope to bring hope and real growth opportunities in areas in which people have lost hope in justice and meritocracy.

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

Organising and cooking a nice lunch for my friends, Italian/English style!

Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why?

I would like to keep exploring South America. I started with Peru, and would like to go further South on the Pacific coast.

What was the last thing you read?

I read mostly Italian books. The last one was “Storia della mia Ansia” by Daria Bignardi.

If you had to choose a song to personify you, what would it be?

On the nostalgic side “Liberi Liberi '' by Vasco Rossi (Italian singer).

Otherwise on the opposite note, “Can’t stop the feeling” by Justin Timberlake.
