The short answer: Yes. Let’s take a look at how Zego’s delivery insurance options allow you to be covered with multiple work providers.

Setting up delivery insurance can often be relatively straightforward, but finding a policy that understands your individual needs is a more difficult process.

At Zego, we pride ourselves on making the difficult easy. In this post we explain how Zego can offer policy options suitable for even the most unique and diverse of working schedules, regardless of how many companies you are working with.

Policy options:

Our delivery policies are suitable for a variety of vehicle types - we cover scooters, motorcycles, cars and vans. For these vehicles we offer a wide range of options, however you choose to work.

Our fixed-term policies are designed for drivers who work full-time and are a combination of the two major types of cover which are necessary for you to start delivering goods.

The first aspect is Social, Domestic & Pleasure (SD&P) which is your standard vehicle insurance, which covers you for your personal use of your vehicle. The second aspect is Hire & Reward (H&R), which protects you for carrying goods in your vehicle in exchange for payment upon the completion of a delivery.

Attempting to do this without valid insurance can have some serious consequences in the form of fines, points on your license or even vehicle impounding. Available for either 30-day or annual periods, the combination of both our SD&P + H&R in one singular policy will allow you to meet the UK government requirements permitting you to get started with delivery work!

For part-time drivers we can also offer independent delivery policies with just H&R. For cars and vans, this can be set up as a fixed-term 30-day policy. Alternatively, all vehicle types can be set up as a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) account, allowing you to only pay for the hours you're working. In order for these H&R policies to be valid it is necessary for you to have an active SD&P policy.

Main work providers:

We have a wide range of integrated work providers, including Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat and Stuart. You can work with as many of these companies as you like without any additional charge to your policy, all you need to do is request them to be added to your Zego account and complete the integration.

Once your accounts are integrated your shift pattern information will be shared with Zego so that we can understand when you are working and who you are working with. This allows you to be covered for working with multiple companies simultaneously. If you use our pay-as-you-go cover, you won’t be charged twice for the same hour. Zego’s policies allow you the freedom to work with more than one company, so you have the flexibility to decide how and when you work.
