We’re excited to announce that we have partnered with grocery delivery startup, Dija to insure its growing fleet of e-bikes. Earlier this month, we announced the launch of two new flexible products designed to cover fleets of e-bikes and mopeds in the UK. Our partnership with Dija marks our first commercial e-bike policy following the launch of our new products.

Founded by former Deliveroo executives, Alberto Menlolascina and Yusuf Saban, Dija delivers your groceries in 10 minutes at retail prices. Their customers can choose from thousands of products and have them delivered quickly, with no missing items and no substitutes. The company is currently operating in London, Paris and Madrid and is in the process of rapidly expanding across the UK and Europe. As they continue to scale their operations, they will be able to add and remove e-bikes quickly and easily using Zego’s dedicated fleet management portal.

Dija will also be able to track how many of their vehicles are in use at any given time, even down to which particular e-bikes are out on the road. Their cover with Zego provides them with fixed-term annual cover, charged on a monthly basis, helping them to avoid paying large upfront costs. With greater control over its cash flow, the business can focus more of its funds on the continued expansion of its operations and employed delivery workers.

By providing the startup with enhanced transparency and more flexibility than they would have with a traditional insurer, Zego can help Dija to save time and money on the cost of their cover.

Zego’s new flexible e-bike and moped fleet policies can go live in as little as one week. Not only does this quick turnaround time help businesses get their vehicles out on the road faster, it also helps them to scale their fleets quickly and add new vehicles with ease.

Ines Feraci, Director of B2B from Zego, said:

“The Covid-19 pandemic has seen a huge increase in demand for food and grocery delivery platforms and has opened the door to new operators in the space.
“We are excited to be teaming up with Dija, a startup with huge potential, to launch our first ever commercial e-bike policy. Businesses in this sector are completely reliant on their vehicles and we want to give them flexible insurance products which help to maximise their fleets’ potential while minimising costs.”

Alberto Menolascina, Founder & CEO at Dija, said:

“Our partnership with Zego will enable us to assume greater control over our cash flow, which in turn will enable us to prioritise our funds on things like international expansion and hiring. For a fast growing startup like ourselves, this is exactly the kind of flexibility that we need.”
