We’re delighted to announce that we have partnered with leading European e-scooter company TIER, as they prepare to launch their UK fleet of e-scooters.

At Zego, we believe that insurance exists to support innovation, so we’re proud to be playing our part in supporting micromobility solutions. TIER’s launch in the UK follows on from the announcement of the trial of e-scooters on UK roads, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Department for Transport.

Our partnership with TIER will help them to ensure they meet their safety and insurance requirements as they bring their e-scooter model to the UK. With our fully-integrated solution, we will provide them with real-time data analysis, to help them understand the behavior of their riders, improve their safety and reduce the risks of accidents.

TIER is already known for its focus on safety, recently becoming the first e-scooter company to provide a foldable helmet box for riders to use. Additionally, TIER will absorb the insurance premium so that no additional cost is charged to their riders.

Sten Saar, CEO & co-founder of Zego, said:

TIER has achieved a huge amount in a short space of time, and we are very excited about supporting the company as it establishes itself in the UK.

E-scooters can play a major role in making cities greener and less congested, but they need to be insured in the right way that gives everyone peace of mind. We’re very happy to be fulfilling this role.

At Zego, we are proud to have supported e-scooter companies across the EU since June 2019, taking a data-driven approach as we continue to refine our solutions. Through the data that we collect, we understand the real exposure of e-scooters, so we can learn, iterate and improve our products further.
