All the information you need about how Zego's Fleet insurance works, how it differs from a traditional policy and how to get a quote.

If you’re a business owner with a number of vehicles, setting up a Fleet insurance policy is a convenient and cost-effective way to make sure that your vehicles have the cover they need. Instead of having multiple policies to cover multiple vehicles, you have one policy which covers all of your vehicles.

In this post, we’ll look into how Zego’s Fleet insurance works, how it differs from a traditional policy and how to get started with your quote.

How does Zego’s Fleet insurance work?

Zego offers usage-based Fleet insurance to fleets of 20 vehicles or more, working across a range of sectors including delivery, courier, private hire, tradespeople and construction. Unlike traditional Fleet insurance, usage-based cover offers you a premium that is charged according to how much your vehicles are actually used.

With a usage-based policy, you pay a minimum base rate to ensure your vehicles are always covered. Then, depending on the usage of your vehicles, which we can base on the mileage of your vehicles or how much time they spend on the road, you pay a flexible premium. You’ll never pay any more than your agreed monthly cap, no matter how much your vehicles are used, so your pricing is always fair and transparent.

How is the flexible premium calculated?

Zego partners with world-class telematics providers to help you get the most out of your Fleet insurance. These devices keep track of how much distance your vehicles cover and how much time they spend out on the road, so you can pay for the cover you use.

These devices can also help you access a range of benefits to help you manage your fleet’s risk and improve your operational efficiency.

Why choose Zego?

As well as helping you save money on the cost of your cover, Zego works with industry leading partners, including RSA, Swiss Re and La Parisienne to offer you fantastic support.

When you take out a Fleet insurance policy with Zego, we give you access to our dedicated management portal, where you can add and remove vehicles from your policy with ease. We’ll also send over a handy set of instructions so you can get up to speed with how to use your portal quickly and easily.

How does payment work?

Around the beginning of every month, we will send out 2 invoices which will cover:

● Flexible mileage for the month that has just passed

● Following months advance base premium

You must pay both the monthly advance premium and arrears invoices within 14 days of the invoice date or by the due date stated on the invoice. You can also pay all your invoices in one payment. We just ask you to send us an invoice remit so our finance team can allocate the funds to the correct invoice.

How can I get started with a quote?

At Zego, we aim to support fleet owners by providing insurance products that give them the cover they need at a fair price. To learn more about our usage-based cover, and to get a quote for your vehicles, you can visit our Fleet insurance page.
