What courier van insurance includes, how it works and how to get started with a courier van insurance quote with Zego.

When you use your van for delivery or courier work, it’s important to make sure you have the correct insurance cover in place. Your standard Social, Domestic & Pleasure (SD&P) policy won’t cover you for your work as a courier driver, so you’ll need additional protection to make sure you’re insured.

In this post, we’ll look into what’s covered by a courier van insurance policy, the different options that are available to you and how you can get started with a quote for courier van insurance with Zego.

What insurance do I need to work as a courier driver?

To use your van for work as a courier or delivery driver, you will need to have Hire & Reward (H&R) cover in place as well as your underlying SD&P insurance. H&R is the specific type of insurance which protects you for delivering parcels in exchange for payment.

Many companies offer combined courier van insurance policies, which include both your standard insurance for personal driving and the cover you need for your work.

You may also need to have Public Liability insurance in place for a specified minimum level of indemnity. Zego’s courier van insurance policies include £5m Public Liability cover as standard, with the option to increase this to £10m.

What options are available with Zego?

The easiest way to find out is to qet a quote, it only takes a few minutes.
