How to renew your policy with Zego

Our guide to renewing your policy as an existing customer at Zego.

As an existing customer with Zego, renewing your policy is an easy process. Whether you have cover for delivery or private hire, setting up your next policy can be done in minutes by getting in touch with our team. In this post, we’ll provide key information about our fixed term policies and walk you through our renewal process.

Policy types:

At Zego we offer a wide range of fixed term policies suitable for both the short term and long term. Towards the end of the policy period, these will need to be renewed if you are wanting to continue your cover with Zego. Our policy lengths are as follows:

Delivery (Scooter, Van, Car):

  • 30 day
  • Annual

Private Hire (Car):

  • 7 day
  • 30 day
  • Annual

If you have a delivery pay-as-you-go policy, this is NOT necessary to renew. You will instead need to request an updated Letter Of Enrolment (LOE) in accordance with the requirements of your work provider(s). Generally they will ask for an updated version for your account each month. Requesting your LOE is made easy through the Zego App, however, if you face any difficulties with this process you can also use our My Account feature or contact our friendly customer service team.

How to renew:

When you purchase a policy with Zego, you will be provided with your policy documents via email. Among the key information featured on the certificate, the dates when your policy is active will appear. If you have a 7-day policy, your renewal quotation will be generated approximately 3 days before the end date so you can get in contact with us at any point after this. For 30-day policies your quotation will be available 7 days before your policy is scheduled to expire and for annual policies this is sent to you at least 24 days before. While the renewal quotations for short term policies can be accessed by calling us, annual quotes will be emailed to you as soon as they are generated so you will have plenty of time to get in touch.

Auto renew:

If you have one of our short term options and want to save the time of getting in touch with us for every renewal we can place your policy on the automatic renewal! For 7-day policies your policy will renew 48 hours before your policy expires and 30-day policies will renew 72 hours before. Payment will be taken from the primary card on your account and your documents will be sent to you as soon as the renewal is complete. If you have your account integrated with your work provider(s) then they should also receive them automatically. You will also receive an Email with your quotation before the renewal if there are any changes to your premium, giving you plenty of time to get in touch with us if you are wanting to cancel. Cancelling comes at no extra cost, all you need to do is ensure you get in touch with us before the policy renews.

Renew by email

If you have a 30-day policy with Zego and you don’t have auto-renewal turned on, we will contact you before your policy expires with the details of your new quote. At this point, you can confirm whether you would like to proceed with the renewal directly through email without the need to contact us over the phone.
